Mrs. Georgina
Lartey had her Basic Education at the St Cyprian Anglican Primary and St Anne’s
Anglican Middle Schools all in Kumasi. She entered St Monica’s Teacher Training
College upon completion of her Middle School and came out after four years with
Teachers Certificate ‘A’. In the latter part of her basic school teaching, she
had the opportunity to upgrade herself at the GNAT organized evening classes
and registered as a private candidate, to write her GCE O’Level certificate.
Mrs. Lartey
furthered her education to the tertiary level and obtained a Diploma in
Secretarial and Management at the University of Education, Winneba (Kumasi
campus). She taught Business Management at Wesley Day Secondary School, Tafo
and Prempeh College all in Kumasi. She became the head of the Business
Department at Prempeh College till June, 2005 when she was appointed Principal
of Wiawso Training College now Wiawso College of Education in Sefwi Wiawso.
In 2007, she obtained
a Master’s degree in Educational Planning and Administration from the
University of Cape Coast and a Master of Public Administration from the Ghana
Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in 2014.
Upon her retirement
as Principal of the Wiawso College of Education, she was appointed Registrar of
Anglican University College of Technology.
Mrs. Lartey has attended several
conferences and workshops on higher education.
